Step 1: Brush It onto the Masonry Surface

Before you begin to apply the Paint N Peel fireplace cleaner, you should give it a good heavy stir. Use the included bristled paint brush to start applying a 1/8” to a 3/16” layer of the fireplace cleaner to all of the masonry surfaces that you wish to clean. If you prefer, you can also use a heavy nap roller for applying the cleaner as well. When the fireplace cleaner is applied thicker it will allow you to peel it off with minimal tearing once it is dried.

**Tip: No worries if you accidentally drip on to something that you did not want to treat with the paint N peel, it will wash off with some warm soapy water and a rag.

Step 2: Let It Dry Completely

When you are all finished painting on the Paint N Peel Fireplace Cleaner it is time to just let it dry. The drying can take anywhere from 6-12 hours depending on how warm your home is and how much moisture is in the air of the home as well. You will know when the product is dry because it will have a grey/green color and will also become almost like an elastic rubber. When we applied the Paint N Peel we let it dry all night long so we knew it was completely dry.

Step 3: Peel It Off and See the Results

Now that the Paint N Peel fireplace cleaner is completely dried, it is time to start peeling it off. Start peeling at an edge, lifting the whole length of the edge about an inch in so that you have a good area to grab onto. This will help you peel of larger chunks at one time rather than a bunch of little pieces. There will most likely be a few small pieces that are left behind on the surface that you will have to go back and clean up.

The Paint N Peel Fireplace Cleaner when dried is pretty tough. You will need to give it a good steady pull to remove it from the porous fireplace surfaces. It can withstand a good force without ripping or shredding.

The results will be amazing! The proof will be on the back of the dried cleaner as you peel it off. You may not even have realized your fireplace surfaces were that dirty but the results will be pretty amazing when you look up close.
