Plan Your Chimney Installation Using The DuraTech Round Ceiling Support Kit

If you’re still in the planning phase of your wood stove installation here are some tips.

  1. Read all instruction manuals for your wood stove, fireplace, or appliance and take notes of all the restrictions like clearances to combustibles, clearances to windows and doors, etc.
  2. Take the time to crawl up in your attic and get a good feel for the area you plan to install the chimney pipe.  Look for other venting, wiring, air conditioners, and any other obstructions that might hinder your installation.  Also look at your rafters and see if you’re going to need to offset your chimney pipe as this will require you to order an Elbow Kit.Note: Don’t forget to take measurements for chimney pipe lengths.
  3. Make sure to take the time to crawl up on your roof, measure the roof pitch if you don’t already know it, and look for other vents, electrical wiring, telephone wires, and any other obstructions that might hinder your installation.Note: Don’t forget to take measurements to determine how much chimney pipe you’ll need above your roof.
