Hi I’m Melissa from Northline Express. In my last video I talked to you about the different types of canopies that you could choose from and how to determine which style you needed. In this video I am going to cover choosing the right size canopy tent.
There are a variety of factors to consider when you are determining the canopy size that you are going to need. The most important consideration is going to be the space that you have available. You cannot use a canopy that is bigger than the area that you have. Next consider how many people the canopy needs to accommodate. If your event is going to be standing style without tables or other furnishings, there is a simple rule to determine the canopy size. You will need about 10-12 sq. ft. per person.
If your event is a meal or is furnished, choosing the canopy size is going to require a bit more thought. Here are some guidelines to follow for different types of events:
For speech style seating you will want to have 5-6 sq. ft. per chair to provide a comfortable amount of room for your guests.
For sit down meals make sure to allow 12 sq. ft. per person. Don’t forget to allow for additional room for mingling or servers.
To ensure that you are choosing the right size canopy for your event make sure that you are considering all furnishings, equipment, and staff in addition to the amount of guests. It is always best to purchase a canopy size that is a bit larger than you plan for to cover unexpected guests or other unforeseen needs.
So now you have some homework to do but its best to make sure that you are choosing the right size rather than finding out the day of your event there just is not enough room for everything or everyone!!
I hope that you have found this information on choosing a canopy size helpful. Keep watching for the rest of our Canopy series; next I will be discussing the choice between light duty and heavy duty canopies!
