Are you sick of replacing fireplace grates every season? We were too that is why here at NorthlineExpress we went out looking for a fireplace grate that was better than the rest. The first time we were introduced to the Lifetime Fireplace Grates was at a Hearth and patio expo. Custom Firescreen introduced us to a fireplace grate unique from all others with its 1’’ wide steel bar design and its Lifetime warranty. I am Melissa from NorthlineExpress and today I would like to introduce you to the Lifetime Fireplace Grate and show you why this should be the grate that you are using!
Most fireplace grates are made of steel and when it comes to steel products the weight of the product is typically a good indicator of quality. Just picking up the Lifetime Fireplace Grate you can immediately tell that this is a superior fireplace grate. Just picking up the grates was not enough proof for us so we compared a 36’’ lifetime grate to a typical 36’’ fireplace grate. The difference was once again very obvious, the lifetime grate weighed in at 39 pounds while the regular grate weighed in at only 28 lbs. That is 11 extra pounds of steel in the Lifetime grate.
The next thing that we looked at was the welds on the lifetime grate. If you have ever had a fireplace grate “burn out” you know that 9 times out of 10 it happens at a weld. So we put the two grates up against each other again. Take a look at our typical grate, notice that because of the diamond shaped steel bar the point of contact is very small which leads to a weak weld point. After frequent firings and over time this weld weakens and the grate “burns out” meaning the steel bars detach from each other and the grate falls apart. This is why typical fireplace grates need to be replaced so frequently.
So now lets look at the welds on the lifetime grate and see how they compare. Because Custom Firescreen uses 1″ wide steel bars they have a much larger area to weld which allows for a superior hold. Each bar is heavily welded all the way around for a total bead of about 4″ compared to about a 1″ spot weld on your typical steel bar grate.
The heavier steel bars and the superior welds definitely prove the lifetime grate to be a far superior fireplace grate. They are also made right here in the United States. Custom Firescreen is located in Iowa and has been manufacturing fireplace doors, screens, grates and more for over 30 years. They are a quality manufacturer who takes pride in their work, and it shows in the LifeTime Fireplace Grate. We commend Jerry and all the guys and gals at Custom Firescreen for creating a better Fireplace Grate. And Recommend to anyone who uses a fireplace grate to make the switch to a lifetime fireplace grate. You’ll be glad you did! The Lifetime Fireplace grate is another great product from NorthlineExpress home of the buy and try satisfaction guarantee. And do not forget we are your one stop shop for all your hearth accessories.
