It is a common misconception that you need the biggest size patio heater that you can find in order to benefit from the heat outdoors.
I am Melissa from Northline Express and I am here today to let you know that there is a simple way to figure out what size patio heater you need! The amount of heat that outdoor patio heaters give off is measured in BTUs for gas outdoor heating units and in watts for electric outdoor heating units. To figure out which size patio heater you will need, take the cubic feet of the area that you are heating and multiply it by the desired amount you wish to raise the temperature. That will give you the amount of BTUs you will need your outdoor heater to produce.
Two key points to keep in mind when choosing a patio size heater of any type; one have realistic expectations and placement for the most efficient heating. Patio heaters are meant to ease the chill of cool weather. Remember you are outdoors, not indoors! In very cold weather, they will not keep you warm very long but are capable of taking the edge off. Since hot air rises, some heated air will be lost to the atmosphere, but you can help prevent wasted heat by placing your patio heater at a safe distance beneath an umbrella or awning.
Investing in a patio heater is an outstanding way to enhance your outdoor lifestyle. Breathe more fresh air. Hear more crickets. See more stars. And stay comfy cozy while you’re at it.
